K-8
Wesley K-8 School provides a supportive environment offering student opportunities to socialize and participate in extracurricular and supplemental activities. At Wesley K-8 we provide a positive school environment by adhering to our Positive Behavioral Intervention Support program. PBIS is a multi-tiered approach to social, emotional and behavior support. The purpose is to improve social, emotional and academic outcomes for all students. Our Core values include Be Safe, Be Respectful and Be Responsible. Various incentives, rewards, and initiatives are in place to support behavioral and academic expectations.
Our Sports Director leads our school in a Therapeutic League with other cooperating schools. Students who meet behavioral expectations may participate on our Flag Football, Basketball, Kickball, and Cheerleading teams. We also run a separate Hockey League.
Our students enjoy participating in annual dances, a talent show, Spirit Week, Awards Assemblies, and several family engagement events throughout the school year. These activities combined with core academics, courses in Art, Music, Physical Education, technology provide for a well-rounded education.
High School
Wesley High School provides its students with a positive and supportive school environment by adhering to School Wide Positive Behavior Interventions & Support (SWPBIS) initiative. SWPBIS is an evidenced-based, system approach for establishing the social culture needed for our school to be an effective learning environment for all students. Wesley High School also provides a continuum of clinical services supporting our students through groups, individual and family sessions, provided by Masters-level therapists.
Wesley High School also offers sports activities throughout the school day: flag football, basketball, kickball and cheerleading. Our sports program is part of a therapeutic league involving schools similar to Wesley High School. Our students also enjoy participating in Prom, Graduation, annual talent show, dances, clubs, field trips and a variety of other activities throughout the year.
Other opportunities that are afforded to our students are; standards-aligned curriculum, taught by Special Education and core subject area teachers certified by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. Aside from the core subjects taught, we also offer art, physical education, computers, technology, greenhouse, daily living skills and community-based instruction as elective classes.
