About Wesley Schools
We provide a safe and therapeutic environment so that each student can make the most of their education. Every student has their own unique background and reason for attending our schools. No matter what their journey has been, they can count on a curriculum that is aligned to the Pennsylvania Core Standards and a variety of student activities. Our goal for every student is reintegration, and on average, our students are prepared to return to their home district within 2 years.
Courses are taught by either content certified or special education teachers. In addition to the core academic subjects, we offer a variety of courses in art, computers, music, physical education, technology and daily living skills. We also participate in the National School Lunch Program for all students and provide breakfast and lunch daily.
We recognize the responsibility and commitment to the students and families we serve. We strive to prepare youth to become responsible adults, able to participate in their communities and lead fulfilling lives.
School-Wide Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports
SWPBIS is an evidence-based, nationally-recognized framework for establishing the school culture needed to create the best possible learning environment for all students, with all types of needs.
The approach utilizes a data-based decision-making framework that guides staff in the selection, use, and implementation of the best evidence-based academic and behavioral practices for improving important academic and behavior outcomes for all students.
SWPBIS helps students develop a sense of success and accomplishment while learning the rules. All activities at Wesley Schools, including sports and extracurricular subjects, incorporate the SWPBIS framework.
Formalized Mental Health Services
In addition to therapeutic support, we offer formalized mental health services during the school day.
Partial Hospital Services are available for children who meet criteria and insurance coverage for Medical Assistance. Our Partial Hospital Program is licensed by the Department of Public Welfare and is located in our K-8 school.
Acute Partial Hospital Services are available for children requiring stabilization from an acute mental health crisis. Medical Assistance and some commercial insurance plans are accepted. Although Acute is not an educational placement, our certified teachers provide education services to students while in our care.
Out-Patient Services are available for children who meet criteria and insurance coverage for MA and some commercial plans. Co-pays and deductibles may apply.
